2004 Group Competition

The project for 2004 was 'A Game Board'. No restrictions were placed on the size or design, merely the (unwritten) requirement that the board must contain some marquetry!

The results:

  • 1st - "Fox & Geese" by Shirley Watts - finally someone ousted Jack Webb from the top spot!
  • 2nd - "Scrabble" by Gerald Owen
  • 3rd - "Stafford Knot Cribbage Board" by Quentin Smith - the Secretary's third year in third place!
    •

    Over 100 members of the public voted to choose the winner and almost 50% chose Shirley's board - one of the clearest margins recorded.
