The 2005 National Exhibition was held in Bexleyheath, Kent over a weekend in May. As no group was hosting the event the Marquetry Society executive committee arranged a slghtly smaller, but still interesting and attractive exhibition.
The Group's entry was:
- Class 1 (Beginners): "Early Morning Milk" Brian Freeman 1st
- Class 1 (Beginners): "Off to the Fields" Brian Freeman 2nd
- Class 2 (Secondary): "Gladstone Pottery" Brian Freeman 1st
- Class 2 (Secondary): "Roses" Brian Freeman
- Class 6a (Advanced Miniatures): "Circus Maximus" Quentin Smith 3rd
- Class 6b (Beginners Miniatures): "Little Moreton Hall" Brian Freeman 1st
- Class 7b (Beginners Applied): "Cottage Letter Rack" Shirley Watts
- Class 7b (Beginners Applied): "Fox & Geese Board" Shirley Watts
- Class 8 (3-veneer): "Naked Ambition" Quentin Smith
Brian Freeman's "Early Morning Milk" was also awarded the Wendy Gibbons Vase for the best exhibit in classes 1-3.
