Jim McConnell

Jim was a member of the Marquetry Society before the founding of the Group. He is a stalwart supporter, renowned for his skill at polishing and a dab-hand with a scraper plane. He has exhibited at previous National Exhibitions and is eligible to enter the intermediate class. Unfortunately a bout of poor health has curtailed his marquetry for the time being.

A dramatic sky highlights the bird in flight.

Again the sky adds drama to the picture.

Autumn Leaves

Another of Jim's beautifully polished pictures which won the Group "Three-veneer" competition in 1997.

The Mill at Dedham

An interpretation of Constable's famous painting which earned Jim a 'Highly Commended' at the 1997 National Exhibition.

Tora

A dramatic tiger. The background is green myrtle burr.
