Bill has been making marquetry for many years. One of his first projects on joining was to spent many hours painstakingly re-polishing some of his earlier pictures, with excellent results.

"Skeggy" Bill really captured the joyful expression on this rather rotund character from a seaside poster. At one point he was just going to cut the picture, but was finally persuaded to have a go at the lettering. Not wanting to risk spoiling the picture he cut the letters into separate pieces of veneer and only let those into the surround when he was happy with them. |

Lone Warrior One of Bill's earlier pictures which has benefited from re-polishing. |

Watching and Waiting Another of Bill's earlier pictures. The polish is so good we couldn't avoid flare from the flash-gun! |
